Having undergone a  lengthy process of constantly working with communities in the south coast of the island for over 3 years, we have conceptualized a deeper and a more meaningful holiday travel experience for visitors to Sri Lanka.

The Hide@Kalametiya is located close to one of Sri Lanka’s most biologically rich and ecologically diverse bird sanctuaries. It offers  discerning travelers and serious bird watchers, an 88 year old Sri Lankan villa restored true to its original ambiance with all modern comforts.

What's so special?

As a guest, you will be a participant in a social entrepreneurship programme as well. The Hide's revenue is invested in the community and any income you help generate through your stay will support community projects in the villages of the RUK area. We have identified a number of sustainable  community owned small tourism businesses, school and health care facilities , women in development programmes and other social welfare development activites. Key area of focus is environmental conservation practices for bio-diversity conservation, education and awareness building.

The Hide@Kalametiya is approved by Sri Lanka Tourist Board as a Heritage House suitable for tourist accommodation.
